Alesha Hollinger – Atlanta shooting victim

Donation protected
Our dear friend, Alesha Hollinger, an amazingly devoted wife, mother of 3 school-aged children, Christian, and career woman was suddenly and unexpectedly shot point blank by a 24 year old man in Atlanta on May 3rd. She was in a Doctor’s office waiting room, just devotedly doing her job when the event unfolded.

The Hollinger’s are an amazingly tight-knit family that will bond together and make any and all sacrifices that they must to work toward overcoming this, as long as it takes. There are so many of those sacrifices that they, and certainly none of us, know will need to be made; but they are real.

As one of the many close friends of the Hollinger family, please help me assist them and the other 4 victims’ families with unforeseen expenses they face ahead. Even little gestures are so meaningful, and they all add up.

At your option, please read more as to why it is so important to consider this way of showing your care and concern:

You probably don’t even have to imagine this: It’s just another routine day; you may be running family errands, it may be the middle of a workday getting ready to take the next call or move on to your next task, or you’re out to lunch with friends or colleagues. You’re in your hometown and hearing the news about another mass shooting. But this time the news is close to home, it’s in your town. Perhaps you think nothing of it because it’s a big city with a metro population of millions, so you trust your loved ones couldn’t possibly be involved; but none the less you mentally survey where your family members could be at that moment. You might even be so engrossed in moving your day’s agenda froward that you don’t even hear the news. Then you get that phone call and learn that your wife, husband, children or parents were blissfully moving forward their own day but in a matter of seconds their whole lives and that of their loved ones changed unimaginably; they were one of the victims.

Our loved one was rushed to the nearest Trauma hospital where teams of doctors have to immediately determine how to triage multiple head injuries from the facial bullet wound, not even first knowing themselves if she can be saved. Miraculously, she is in a world renowned hospital for dealing with these saddest of unfathomable events, these doctors are the best of the best. Triage is successful but many complicated surgeries lie yet ahead. Yet physical recovery is just part of the process. Mental and emotional care for her, and her loved ones, may never conclude

We would all like to think insurance will pay for this completely. We would also like to believe the Hollinger family won’t have to worry themselves about the impact to them financially because of this. The fact is, so many additional expenses are not even conceived of and will simply not be covered. Not to mention, a successful woman’s career, that was so dear to her, may have just come to an abrupt halt.

This is an amazingly tight knit family that will bond together and make any sacrifices that they must to overcome this, as long as it takes. There are so many of those sacrifices that they, or none of us, know will need to be made; but they are real. To help them through this, we have started this fundraiser for them directly and so that they may consider helping other families, which would be so meaningful to them as part of their healing process.
