Alen & Amanda Marsee

This is Brittany - I am making this GodFunMe for Alen & Amanda, to help with whatever costs they may have. Be it, Medical, Gas, Bills, Childcare, days off of work for Amanda, she’s currently the only income and she needs to be with Alen. I wanna help them take a load off by not stressing about the how and where and what. If you feel led, any donations are appreciated. We wanted to let everyone who knows and loves Alen Marsee and considers him a friend/family know that he has been in NICU at UAB for going on 4 weeks now. Alen started to feel sick 6 weeks ago and it took 4 ER visits before they finally figured out the issue. Alen has a condition called Dural ArterioVenous Fistulas that are pressing on his Brain Stem. This has caused a lot of issues like not being able to walk, seeing double, spasms/hiccups headaches and nausea and several more issues that are life threatening. The Neurosurgeon were able to preform a procedure that took care of some of the issue areas and a surgery is taking place as I type this to hopefully fix the rest. Alen’s respiratory rate has been hit or miss hitting zero every time he’d dose off, he was not able to speak with out slurring on several occasions and not able to swallow, the CO2 levels in his blood have been, at times, way to high and the critical care team has had to make the call to intubate him on several occasions and let the ventilator do the work for him so he can rest while they work to find the problem and solution. Please Pray they are able to fix him and that his nero surgeons,CC Team and nurses are able to use there God Given talent to the best of their abilities beacuse we all need him here with us! Pray for our Children,Parents and close friends, We all Love him So much!!!! We believe in the power of prayer and we know it’s in Gods hands So please just pray pray pray!!! We Love you all❤️ Also due to our large family and having strict rules for visitors please reach out to one of us to make sure we would be able to get you in to see him before you come! Not saying no visitors we just want to make sure we are able to let his kids and family with him as much as possible.

Update from Amanda after surgery: Surgery went smoothly they did an arteriogram before his surgery and after and looks like all of the mass was gone! As far as all of his deficits and symptoms it will be a waiting game as things settle and swelling goes down to see what self corrects. We will be in ICU a little longer so they can monitor him closely as his case was not a typical case for DAVF. We are praying and believing in full recovery though and asking everyone to pray for that with us! I want to say thank you to all our friends, family, and coworkers who have had our backs weather it be food, money, visits, prayers, and helping with our kids and helping make sure they are taken care of while we have been here it means the world to me! It has definitely lessened the stress in such a stressful time! You all are amazing and been the biggest blessing! We still have a long road ahead but yesterday made huge progress in the right direction to get him back to his self!
