It is with a heavy heart that we share some tragic news: On the 30th of December 2023, our dear friend Alexander Tihonov unexpectedly passed away in Seattle. He was a talented and beloved sailor, and lived until the age of 65. Alexander completed his education at the best engineering naval academy in Odessa, Ukraine, and did not just fall in love with the ocean there - he learned to live it.
The highly talented Alexander participated in many sailing regattas and took part in several trips across the ocean, exploring the Kurilski and Komanderskiye islands. But Alexander was not just an extremely talented sailor - he was a strong, brave man, hardened by the difficulties of his life, with saltwater running in his veins. He was always ready to lend a helping hand where needed and never hesitated to help a friend in need.
Unfortunately, Alexander does not have any family that could assist with his laying to rest. We are asking you, reader, for help to collect funds for a proper farewell for our dear friend Alexander. Any and all donations will be used for the organization of a funeral and ceremony to give this great man the respect he deserves.
