Hi, I'm Aleks and I've just finished my first year at University studying a BSc in Computer Science with AI. I have had the time of my life at Royal Holloway in the UK, with only two years left to go.

I was planning to take out student loans but I’ve learned that my US social security number was compromised at some point since moving to Guernsey. This person has taken out FAFSA loans in my name already, which means I can’t take out the much-needed loans I need to complete my studies. And due to my only citizenship being American, I can’t apply for anything in the UK. While we are working to fix the identity theft issue, we do not how long it will take to rectify the problem. This ultimately means that I can’t take out student loans until then.

Any donations are appreciated. I’m asking for some outside help since my dad has taken on the lion share of the £25,000 tuition for each year I have left to study (2 years) and £10,000 for housing.

Now this is a really high amount and I don't expect to receive anywhere near it, but every little bit helps to put the ease on me and my family. My father also had to move recently, which has put a dent in the savings we had.

We've been trying to navigate this identity theft for a couple months, and I worry that it may be difficult to stay studying and living in the UK because of it. I'd usually be willing to compromise but my studies mean a lot to me. Plus, the person I love with all my heart is here and I can't bear to part with them simply because I can't afford it.

Please, any amount is extremely helpful. I would also love to hear from you, even just a chat to catch up would help a lot mentally at this time.
