Hi, my name is Aleks. I am a 21 year old transgender man living in the UK, and I am fundraising towards my medical transition. This may include, appointment fees, HRT prescription fees and surgery costs. Any spare change is appreciated :)

We all know that the political climate towards transgender people in the UK is only getting worse currently. And uncertainty around public NHS funded transgender healthcare is growing, therefore private healthcare is the only current safety blanket for many transgender people, like myself, to guarantee ongoing medical care. I am currently on the NHS waiting list for The Nottingham Centre for Transgender Health, and am waiting to receive medical care. However, this is a very lengthy process. As I have now turned 21, I am eager more than ever to begin my medical transition. I would like to enter full adulthood in the body that feels most aligned with my gender. With the money raised, I aim to start on HRT as soon as possible, and save towards receiving the best results for my planned surgeries.

I am fully aware that cost of living is in full swing, and there are many less fortunate transgender (or in general) people out there who are more in need of money than I may be. Therefore, if you cannot afford to donate, or have a better cause to donate towards, please prioritise yourself and the less fortunate. There is no obligation to donate.
