Alejandro Alberto Oliva
September 29, 1984 – April 3, 2021
The heavens have called on our beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, coach and friend, Alex Oliva. Alex was known for his contagious smile, unmatched positive energies, faith driven and a loving family man. God and family were the core foundation of Alex’s morals and values. His commitment to care and help his loved ones, was noticed by all. Alex often reminded us to not take life too seriously through his endless sense of humor. He will continue to be remembered by his wife of 8 years, Laura, daughter Alexia (7) and son Lukas (4).
Playing soccer was his lifelong hobby where he shared some of his favorite moments with friends on and off the field. Combining his hobby with his desire to give back to the community, led him to coach children’s soccer teams. A dream of his was to coach both of his kids’ soccer teams and he not only achieved his dream but surpassed it by winning championships with his kids’ teams.
Alex was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer in April 2016 and underwent an extensive 10-hour colon reconstructive surgery. Despite the success of the surgery and a year of chemotherapy, the cancer continued spreading through his colon. At that point, the medical team determined chemotherapy was too aggressive and not as effective as they hoped. Alex opted to discontinue chemotherapy and maximize the quality of life he would enjoy with his family for the next few years. Alex fully trusted God’s will and remained full of faith until his last moments.
Please assist us in raising funds to give Alex the funeral and memorial services he deserves. We aim to rest Alex near his mother at Mountain View Cemetery.
Though he will be strongly missed by family, friends and the community, Alex is now resting alongside his mother. Alex, we love you.
