Christmas morning 2014, I found a lump in my right breast. I was so shocked. I couldn't get to the dr soon enough. On February 27 I was ordered an ultrasound and asked for a biopsy of what was believed to be a 1.7cm mass. A week later I was diagnosed with Mixed Invasive Mucinous and Ductal Carcinoma but was told my lymph nodes were also swollen. They scheduled a mammogram and were unable to perform the biopsy of the lymph nodes. Mammogram results measured the mass at 3.7cm. I am now scheduled for a right breast mastectomy May 8, 2015 and will undergo chemotherapy soon after. I have been told i should be off work for at least 6 months but i hope to be strong enough to work.
Chemotherapy can damage the immature eggs in the ovaries. Therefore, may cause infertility and puts me at risk to going through early menopause. So, prior to my treatment I hope to freeze my baby makers(eggs). I pray I have the chance of answering to "Mommy" one day ☺
