Alec Blum Rehab and Recovery Fund

My name is Jessica Delmar and I am Creating this Go Fund Me page for my boyfriend Alec. Alec and I have been dating for a year and two months. We spend as much time together as we can while trying to adult properly and living in two separate households.

On July 7th around 5:22pm I start getting non-stop calls from 2 numbers I didn't know. I listened to a voice mail one of the numbers left and instantly my worst fears became reality. My boyfriend who was on the way home from work, got into a motorcycle accident. A Chevy 3500 didn't see Alec on his motorcycle and pulled out in front of him, Alec couldn't stop fast enough to prevent the accident. My boyfriend has grown up around motorcycles his entire life and has always been extremely careful and is strict with himself and others about following speed limits and rules of the road. This was a freak accident and I know Alec did everything he could do to stop and prevent it from happening.

I immediately called the number back, and asked what had happened. I listened as well as I could and got the basic info and thanked the lady who was nice enough to stop, help Alec AND stay with him till the ambulance arrived. I started to go numb and cry, I screamed for my mom and asked her to call the hospital he was staying at and find out what she could while I called the second number back. The second witness told me that she had never seen anything like that before and to make sure I take good care of him. I messaged our close knit group of friends to let them know what happened and I took off for the hospital.

At the moment Alec had his wreck, his dad just so happened to be driving by and recognized his motorcycle on the road. His dad was able to follow him to the hospital. By the time I got to the hospital his dad was already there and I joined him in waiting to be updated by the ER doctors. Alec’s doctors told us he was wearing his helmet and his upper body is okay, just some scrapes and bruises from being thrown from his bike. His doctor also said there was a chance he could lose his right foot and that he had no blood flow to it, but they would just have to wait and see once they got into surgery. They started surgery and the doctors found out his right leg was worse than they realized. His entire knee was dislocated and his tendons and ligaments are all destroyed in his knee and it had little blood flow to the area. They ended up amputating his upper shin, ankle and foot.

We are currently waiting for a time for his next surgery. To improve Alec's quality of life they need to preform another operation and amputate above his knee. All we know right now is that will be tomorrow (7/9/2020), but we do not have a time.

I am asking you for donations and if you can’t donate please, please, PLEASE share. He is a sweet, kind and caring man.  Alec would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who needed it. He loves his friends, family and he constantly put others before himself in ALL aspects of his life and this time I feel that it’s the universes turn to take care of him.
Donations will be used to help Alec pay rent& utilities as well as medical bills and other medical related expense as they come up.  We are in this for the long haul, but we need your help. Please share! Once Alec is home I will update this Go Fund me with a meal train form. **Alec is in good spirits and already making jokes, but I don't think they're funny yet!
