**UPDATE: We have exceeded our initial goal! We’re extremly thankful for everyone’s generosity and any additional funds will be used toward other Alcott Sports Programs and the weight room at the Boys & Girls Club. On a personal note, I am continuously amazed by the thoughtfulness of the people I’m surrounded by- friends, family and my Coyote family. Thank you for making this happen!**
The Alcott College Prep Cheer Team is going on it's second year cheering at eight 'home' games this upcoming basketball season.
We're 10 girls strong and looking forward to a season filled with creativity, enthusiasm, structure and hard work! We're looking to raise funds to help support our team, mainly focused on poms and uniforms for the season.
Any additional funds raised through this go fund me page will be used to support our local Boys and Girls club (current location of our home games) and their efforts to build a weight room to be used by Alcott students and also the local community.

Alcott College Prep is only in its eighth year of operation and as its academic offerings are growing so are it’s athletic programs. Alcott is a Diversity school which means students of all demographics and socioeconomic status attend. Because of the makeup of Chicago Public Schools many of the families with students attending Alcott are of the lower and lower-middle socioeconomic status. Alcott’s student population is approximately 95% enrolled in free and reduced lunch.
The Athletic Director has created co-op opportunities for Alcott and other Chicago Public Schools as a way to leverage the resources of other schools. He has also fostered a strong relationship with the neighboring Boys and Girls club as well as a Chicago Park District so that the student athletes can have a handful of home games and a place to practice on a full sized court or field.
The neighboring Boys and Girls club is located in the Lathrop Homes which are currently being redesigned and renovated and will soon be occupied with dozens of families in need of activities for their children to participate in after school. Adding a weight room to the Boys and Girls club would not only benefit Alcott students but would also create a space for families of the Lathrop homes to utilize and ensure their children are engaging in healthy and productive activities.
