We were fortunate to know and live with such a beautiful soul. Alicia was a fighter! She overcame so many health obstacles throughout her life from Kidney transplant to falling sick years later and undergoing dialysis 3 times a week. She continued fighting when she had open heart surgery and was slowly going blind. She pulled through it all!
Unfortunately, on March 15, 2016 she suffered a stroke. When hospitalized she was showing great signs of improvement. Doctors ran MRIs , and she was even transferred to another Hospital to perfume a Cat scan which showed she was getting better. Doctors were giving her the green light to go home on Sunday March 20, 2016. She was in great spirits joking with everyone like she always did and even wanting to play her favorite game BINGO!
On Saturday, when she was by herself she fell and hit her head on the ground. This caused her to endure another stroke and cause internal bleeding in her brain. After monitoring her for more than 24 hours and multiple MRIs the neurologist said there was nothing else we could do for her, her brain was not functional.
Today, March 21, 2016, we medically had to put her to rest. She was not breathing on her own and could not function without being on machines.
I ask for your help now to help Alicia’s family in this hard time and financial hardship. Any donations will be much appreciated so that we may put to rest Alicia Bonilla. She will be greatly missed; she was a mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, friend and a loving person!
Thank you again!
