Hi, I’m Kendall McKoy.
On May 9, I’m swimming from Alcatraz to San Francisco.
But this isn’t just a race for me—it’s a mission.
In our communities, too many people never had the opportunity to learn how to swim. And that’s not just about recreation—it’s about safety, confidence, and access to a life-saving skill. The reality is, drowning rates are significantly higher in communities without access to swim education.
That’s why I’m partnering with 4M Swim Club.
Founded in 1972, 4M has taught over 15,000 people how to swim and has spent decades breaking barriers and creating access to water safety in the Baltimore community.
This fundraiser turns my Alcatraz swim into something bigger.
100% of the funds raised will go directly toward swim lessons through 4M Swim Club.
That means:
* Helping someone get in the water for the first time
* Teaching life-saving skills
* Building confidence that lasts a lifetime
We’re also selecting 5 individuals to receive free swim lessons this summer, giving people a direct opportunity to learn.
If you’re able to support, any contribution helps move this forward.
If you or someone you know wants to learn how to swim, apply.
And if nothing else, share this.
This is bigger than a swim.
This is about access.
