Greetings Afrikan Family,
We are saddened to announce the transition of Baba James Alcantara in the early hours of July 3, 2017. James had struggled through some serious health issues for the past two years despite his will and determination to be a solid rock for his family. He was a Warrior to the end! Baba James was a loving Father and Husband as well as a True Friend and Brother. His earthly presence will surely be missed though we know his Spirit stands firmly rooted with the ancestors now.
Baba James and Mama Imani Alcantara have six children who are moving through their grief and finding the strength to celebrate the end of their beloved’s pain and suffering. With that in mind, we are asking that all who knew him, as well as anyone else who is able, to support the family during this trying time. There will naturally be costs incurred in preparing a Homegoing Celebration. And his wife and children will need financial support in the short term while all the paperwork and business is squared away.
Please give what you can in resources. But certainly prayers and positive energy are also greatly needed at this time.
