Oh hai! It's been a quiet couple of years for me publicly since my debut album, Savor This, was released in 2021. I hope that you are all doing magnificent.

To be frank, it's been tough few years for me.

My father and Oma passed away, and I've experienced some personal challenges including severe depression and anxiety.

The silver lining to the last few years is that through the tough times, I've been able to channel my emotions into creating a cache of new songs that are unlike anything else I've written.

These songs are extra special to me. Due to the depression, I lost pleasure in regularly writing and playing music, but my baseline state of anhedonia was occasionally punctuated with an intense urge to write music as a way to move through overwhelming emotions. Lyrics and melodies would flow out of me very quickly, and before I knew it, I had about twenty (mostly finished) songs.

This coming album will have tunes that are emotionally raw and vulnerable, but also playful and sexy. It will explore themes such as self-loathing, yearning, travel, romance, surrendering, hope, and loss.

It will be very different than my last album. It will be more poppy, and have way more piano than guitar. Catchy yet unique.

In my humble (and maybe slightly biased opinion), it's going to be really, really good.

I know these songs will resonate with a lot of people.

I've already been able to work with a producer a handful of tunes (thanks to previous donations!), but there is still much work to be done. I'm not rushing this process, but I expect the release date to be in August 2024.

The album title will be called "Woke Up On A Train".
