Hi I'm Baylee but I also go by Moo but most know me as meticuloushands on twitch and my cat is in need of some urgent help. Albert is a 14/15 year old cat who is both outdoors and indoors. Outdoors to go to the bathroom and indoors for the majority of the time. As of yesterday (4/25) in the morning, he was let out for a while and then wasn't seen again the rest of the day.

 

Usually when he's ready to come back in, he sits in the garage on his cushion but he was nowhere to be found. All night before I got ready to sleep, I continued to check and still nowhere. By 7AM the next day, I happened to look in our den since the sunlight was pouring in and I noticed he was there in the center of the floor the whole time. Relieved, I went over to pet him and he yowled in a way he never has before. I didn't think much of it at first and I tried to beckon him to my room but he wasn't listening. I picked him up and he nearly fell limp in my arms. I realized something definitely was wrong when I laid him on top of my bed and he didn't move, he just laid in a fumbled mess.

 

Quickly, we made actions to get him seen by a vet. After running some tests, they found some irregularities in his blood work and it turns out that he was poisoned. Albert had ingested antifreeze at some point and it had to have been the last time he went out and found his way back inside of the house yesterday.

 

 

He is currently fighting off the toxins while he's hospitalized and is getting plenty of fluids and being flushed of all the bad stuff in his system. Unfortunately, the xrays show that one of his kidneys have started to change its shape due to the toxins and he's in critical condition.

 

I have such high hopes he'll fight it off. While he can barely move right now, he was still crying loudly and he even bit a vet student that was checking him out.

 

However, we can barely afford this care. While they are taking care of him as of right now, we'll be charged for each day he's spending the day there. I really don't like asking for money but I don't want my cat to die like this, it's not right. Please help us pay for Albert's medical care, any support would be greatly appreciated!
