Last night a devastating fire destroyed the deeply loved home of Martha & Donnie Wheeler. The truest form of small town hospitality, Martha and Donnie have always been here for our little community whenever the need struck. So many of us have wonderful memories of 62 Albert St - be it a friendly wave and chat every time you pass by, or growing up under Martha’s care.

Martha has devoted her life to taking care of our littlest members, and the door was always open for a neighbour in need. We have all been welcomed as family.

In their time of need, I’m hopeful we can show even a fraction of their passion for community, and rally behind this family of 5 who have lost their home, and all of their possessions. There is of course a massive financial burden that comes with this kind of loss, in addition to the loss of Martha’s beloved home daycare.
