A member of the Washington Elementary School family, Albert Brooks, known by many as Mr. Al, suffered a massive stroke on December 5, 2020. After being comatose and using a ventilator, we are happy to say that he is now breathing on his own and showing signs of progress.
Mr. Al has worked for Bellflower Unified School District for the last 16 years and has become a positive force in keeping our school community clean and safe for all. Over the course of his tenure with BUSD, Mr. Al has become a loved and supportive member of our community.
Although his road to recovery will be long and difficult, Mr. Al’s positive spirit will continue to thrive and smile through it all. He will need to go through physical therapy, speech and language therapy, as well as other rehabilitation services. His wife, Lakibra, and 2 sons will be there to help him through this entire process and we are looking forward to his smiling face returning to campus.
We are establishing this Go Fund Me page in order to help offset the costs of both his medical and rehabilitation coverage as well as loss of income for his family. If you are at all able to donate, please consider giving to Mr. Al and his family. No amount is too small and every bit can help.
We want to thank you, in advance, for reaching out with concerns, hopes, prayers, and thoughts for Mr. Al’s condition and we are all wishing for his speedy recovery.
