MI HISTORIA
Hola, soy Alba.
Gracias a Dios, actualmente mi seguro médico cubre mi atención y mis medicamentos.
Alba.

MY STORY
Hi, I’m Alba. I’m a doctor, but over the past year, I’ve had to experience medicine from the other side: as a patient.
In April 2025, at 32 years old, I received a diagnosis that changed my life completely: colorectal cancer. Shortly afterward, I learned that it had also spread to my liver. From that moment on, my life became a whirlwind of surgeries, chemotherapy, tests, hospital visits, and so much uncertainty—until an option I never imagined would become part of my story appeared: a liver transplant.
On June 2, 2026, I received a second chance at life thanks to my brother, who became my living donor. Today, I can say with immense gratitude that the transplant took place and no disease was found in my explanted liver. My recovery, however, is still ongoing. I have experienced some post-transplant complications that have required additional testing, procedures, and closer medical follow-up, but I continue moving forward and recovering one step at a time.
Thankfully, my health insurance currently covers my medical care and medications. However, after more than a year devoted to treatment and recovery, I am still rebuilding stability while continuing to navigate appointments, testing, and the everyday expenses of life.
This fundraiser began during one of the most uncertain periods of my life. Thanks to the generosity of so many people, it grew beyond anything I ever imagined and helped me through months when I was unable to work, allowing me to focus on my treatment and recovery.
To every person who donated, shared my story, prayed for me, sent me a message, or simply checked in along the way: thank you from the bottom of my heart. And to anyone who voluntarily wishes to continue supporting me during this new chapter, any support is deeply appreciated. A donation, sharing my story, a prayer, or simply being here means more to me than I can express.
Today, my story is no longer only a story about cancer.
It is also a story of transplantation, recovery, faith, and a second chance at life.
I’m still recovering.
I’m still learning how to live in this new chapter. But above all, I’m still here—deeply grateful and with the same desire to keep living life fully.
More life, less fear.
With love and gratitude,
Alba.

ORIGINAL STORY — April 2026
Help Alba receive a liver transplant and continue fighting Stage IV Colon cancer.
Hi, I’m Alba, a doctor and a colorectal cancer Stage IV patient since age 32.
In April 2025, I received my diagnosis, and shortly after I learned that the cancer had spread to my liver. After evaluating different options with my medical team, the most effective way to completely remove the tumor is a liver transplant. Today, I’m blessed to have my brother as a donor.
This process involves a long recovery. I will likely be unable to work for at least another year, so in addition to financial support, your prayers and words of encouragement mean so much to me.
Over the past year, between the diagnosis, surgeries, chemotherapy, and its side effects, I haven’t been able to work, which has led me to use up my savings. In addition, my brother who has been financially supporting us will now be focused on his own recovery as a donor, so he won’t be able to continue helping me financially as he has until now
Since this process doesn’t have an exact end date, I continue to face expenses and challenges day by day. That’s why any help remains deeply valuable.
This GoFundMe is intended to help cover the expenses related to the transplant and recovery that are not covered by my insurance. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference. You can also help by sharing this message.
Thank you for being with me on this journey and for giving me the strength to keep going.
Today I am fighting with everything I have, and your support can be part of this second chance at life.
Thank you for being here. Truly.
Alba

HISTORIA ORIGINAL — Abril 2026
Alba.
