Alaska Missions Trip: Suicide Prevention Camp
Donation protected
Dear donors,
This summer I and four Rise Youth Movement youth are going to Alaska for a missions trip! …but we need YOUR help. We each need $1500 to attend this missions trip. On this missions trip we will be traveling to Camp Nahshii. Here we will be doing work projects to help get the camp ready for the campers. The campers come from Native Alaskan tribes along the Yukon River. Alaska has the highest suicide rate per capita within the nation, which is why this camp is so significant to the native Alaskans in this region. The camp’s mission is “1) Suicide Prevention - Building Self Worth
2) Respect - Building Youth through Team Work
3) Faith - Building Personal Faith through Biblical Concepts”.
On this trip I and the other four students hope to further build our relationships with God, while also appreciating the beauty of the earth he created. We are so ready to work toward what we are passionate about-Jesus! Being teenagers ourselves, we know how hard it is to make connections through Christ and the difficulty of battling mental health struggles. Being able to help other teenagers like ourselves by building a safe space for them to connect with Christ and each other means so much to us.
We hope to have acquired sufficient funding by the end of this March so we can make our travel purchase ASAP. The money we raise will be split among us evenly.
Thank you so much for reading and God Bless!
