Alas, Poor Yorick!

Hello everybody, my name is Jacob and this is my cat, Yorick.

Yorick is a very special little girl. She was born with a number of deformities ranging from her eyes and nasal passages to even her skeleton. At only a few months old, she became seriously ill and was surrendered to a shelter by her original owner. In spite of all this, however, she has been able to enjoy a relatively comfortable and healthy life under my care for the past seven years. She is so full of personality and energy, and doesn't let her health stop her from living a normal kitty cat life.

Unfortunately, her health has been on a slow decline over the past few weeks. Her overall energy level has decreased, and she is showing less and less interest in food. She is sleeping much more, and is having trouble using her litter box. She's still entirely alert and responsive, but it's clear that something just isn't right (on top of the usual things that just aren't right with her).

The cost of what Yorick needs right now is, regretfully, more than I can afford now or anytime even remotely soon. I do not like to ask for help and I especially do not like to ask for money, but I simply cannot do this on my own. Please consider making a donation to help cover these expenses. I am aware that the reality of the situation is that this is an uphill battle. I've always known that it is likely that her lifespan will be shorter than an average cat's. I truly believe that she still has a lot of life left in her, and that it isn't her time yet. These tests will help to determine whether or not that is the case. If there is even a chance that I can give her more time being comfortable and happy, then I really want to take that chance. And if there is realistically no chance for her to recover and be happy, then I need to find that out as soon as possible so that I can ensure that she does not suffer any longer than she has to.
