Hi my name is Livi and I am trying to raise money for my horse Alan’s eye surgery which is between 3-6 grand for one eye which would be his left eye, if we don’t go ahead as there are some risks the money will still go to his treatment . He is 6 years old and is completely blind in one eye because of a cataract and his other eye only has limited vision. He needs treatment to try and save his other eye so he doesn’t end up completely blind. A small part of the money will be used to buy him riding goggles to protect his eye but the rest will go for his treatment to try to save the other eye. He has ERU ( equine recurrent uveitis )ERU is a condition which continues to cause flair ups in the eye which if not treated immediately will cause continued loss of sight and eventual blindness meaning he will be completely blind. To reduce the risk of flair ups eyes must be protected from UV light, dust, twigs, insects ( anything that can get in the eye) horses with this condition need to be stabled to allow rest from natural light and constant virulence over minuscule changes in the eye.
