Alan's Fight: Homeless and struggling

Hi, my name is Alan and I'm 45 years old, and this is my story. I lost my job on March 14, 2025, due to my health issues. Since then, I lost my apartment and became homeless. I went down to DSS for help; they placed me in a hotel and only gave me $25 for food stamps every month. My unemployment that I do get is only $300 a week, and they take 80% of that. It's hard to survive, and it's been hard to find a job due to my health issues. I found out I have 3 pinched nerves in my neck that cause pain down my arm and numbness and tingling in my hands. I have bad carpal tunnel and arthritis in my hands. I also have cervical spine issues. My lower back is shot, my whole side is torn. It's been hard to find a job due to that. Also, I'm starting to get the pain in my legs. It's hard to bend and lift. I just want to get back on my feet and out of this situation. It's expensive to live in New York. The donations I raise will help me get back on my feet and able to survive and get a hot meal it’s been a hard struggle
