I'm finally recording my album, but I need your help!!
I have been enthrawled by everything music since I was a very little boy. My dad is a singer and a trumpet player, his mom was our church choir director, and my mother always sang lullabies with the voice of an angel. Dad had a 12-string acoustic he would play Neil Young and James Taylor songs on. I couldn't press the strings down so I would just strum a Ukelele and pretend.
All these things coupled with a huge record collection were big inspirado and all the fuel I needed to send me on a perpetual journey into the clouds.
Behind the years of playing the role of guitarist in EVERY band I've been in and toured with ( Unjust, quench, NOC, Elara, Souls Harbor, Shinedown, Call Me No One, MadamAdam) there is a voice that has been waiting patiently and quietly. YES, I love playing guitar. It's taken me all over the world and given me countless opportunities to show the world my passion. However, I can recall every sensation about the very first time I took a solo singing part. I sang a 2-line part in a children's production called "Psalty's Singalongathon Maranatha Marathon Hallelujah Jubilee". Sounds silly,but that day I stepped on stage and belted out a note in front of the whole church, and I realized it was most passionate way I could ever connect to my music. I've been working as a music producer for about 7 years and I get to help push other artists to hear and see their visions come to life. I spend so much time on others that I have never given myself the chance to produce something 100% ME.
SO... after 30+ years of playing music, I'm ready to record and release my first singing project. I have a gorgeous wife and 2 beautiful daughters that love to hear me sing. My parents who supported me and instilled in me this dream, are wondering when they'll ever hear me use the voice they know I have. I can't call it a solo project because I will be involving many other creative friends in the writing and production of the album.
HOW WILL I USE YOUR DONATION?
I'm setting the funding goal here to ecompass the recording of an LP, hiring producers and such to help me create something speaks from my soul. If I exceed my goal, I will use every dime to bring more magic to the release of this collection of songs. Perhaps a video to include as well. I'm already in the demo process on several songs, so as soon as funding becomes available, I will start laying the foundation in the studio. I have quite a few talented producer friends that I want to involve and I will be bringing specific songs to each of them as the budget allows.
By NO MEANS am I leaving MADAMADAM or taking a break from the band. This is the band I was meant to be a part of and the most empowering group I've been in. My bandmates absolutely support me and back me in every musical endeavor. This is simply a neccessary and super important chapter in the story of Alan Price.
I can't really explain how much this all means to me. Decades of bottling up my voice has got me bursting at the seams to make something amazing! I've been more than reluctant to do a fundraising campaign for many reasons but my friends have all convinced me that I have to do this. Your support here means more than you will EVER know but I plan to do everything I can to deliver the album I've waited a lifetime to create. Without you, this may stay bottled up for many more years. Thank you so much!!
