Little Alana was a sweet, seven-year-old girl, very much loved by her family and friends. Our hearts break at the senseless loss of her innocent life. Alana passed away Monday, July 27, from a gunshot wound to her head. She was one of four victims of a horrific drive-by shooting that happened in front of her home on the evening of Saturday, July 25, 2020. Two of Alana's older siblings and 1-year old nephew were also injured in the shooting as they were getting out of the car and are currently in medical care.
Alana was a super loveable, calm, and sweet, shy girl. When she would finally come out of her shell, Alana would show her goofy, silly side. She loved to write and learn Math. And she loved her twin brother, Aaden. Alana has been and will always be a powerful and beautiful light in this world. Her energy filled up any space, and her smile would light up any room. Alana's intelligence and strength will always be in our hearts. She is and always will be a special angel.
Alana is survived by her incredible, loving, and kind momma, Shanlauie "Neicey" Drayton, and her siblings. Ms. Drayton is now raising her children as she mourns this tragic loss. On top of the rest of the devastation this has wrought on the family, this tragedy and the economic effects of the pandemic have brought financial hardship to Alana’s mother. All the money raised here will go to support Alana's family and anything they need as they mourn her.

On Saturday, July 25, 2020, at approximately 8:08 PM, Alana Washington was critically injured in the area of North W. 51st St. and NW. 29th Ave., Miami, FL. Alana was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, Ryder trauma, where she later passed away. Two of Alana's older siblings and 1-year old nephew were also injured in the shooting as they were getting out of the car and are currently in medical care.
Unfortunately, the gunman or gunmen are still on the loose, and investigators are still unclear as to what led up to the gunfire.
