Alana’s Road to the Genee

For Alana, fourteen years of exemplary work as a ballet dancer has culminated in one moment- the opportunity to compete in the Adeline Genee Ballet Competition in Hong Kong, considered the world Olympics of Classical Ballet. This dream was made possible not only through her consistent dedication but through her parents’ unwavering support and commitment to her classical ballet training, day after day, year after year. Alana has let nothing get in the way of her quest to obtain the highest achievements in classical ballet. This is proven in her numerous Distinction Marks with the coveted Royal Academy of Dance. She has put in the hard work and thus fully deserves the honor of being on a world class stage.

Last year the Genee Ballet Competition accepted only 52 competitors from a total of 14 countries worldwide. This year, Alana has qualified to represent the United States.

This prestigious qualification represents a dream come true not only for Alana but for everyone involved in helping her get there: the International Dance Academy, her family, and the rest of her “village.” She has done the training but she needs one more key element in making her dream come true: the funding.
