Hi, my name is Jessica, and I’m starting this fundraiser for my younger sister, Alana, and her beautiful family as they face an incredibly difficult time.

Just last week, Alana received devastating news — doctors discovered a large tumour on her spine. Within days, we learned she also has a smaller tumour on her brain. These diagnoses have come as a massive shock.

Alana is currently waiting to undergo surgery and further testing to understand the full extent of what she’s facing. What we do know is that her journey will be long, and challenging. She’s been told she won’t be able to return to work for quite sometime , and her husband, Dan, will also need to take quite a lot of time off to support and care for her and their 2 young children.

They live in Tamworth and will have to travel to and from John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle for surgery, follow-ups and so on. With both of them unable to work the costs will rapidly start rising — travel, accommodation, daily living expenses — the financial pressure is immense.

I’m hoping to ease that burden so they can focus on what matters most, Alana’s health and recovery.
