Help Settle Alana Inemer's Affairs

Donation protected
With the saddest of hearts we share the sudden passing of Alana Inemer on November 14, 2023 at the young age of 55 years old.
Alana lived a life of service. Starting at the age of 14 years old, Alana studied fine art print photography. To those who knew her, she was a part of your family’s most memorable moments – weddings, celebrations, newborn announcements — Alana always wanted to capture memories for the years to come.
Alana shared her love for Jesus with her four children, KaLana, Joseph, MaKela, and Michael, and sang in the Sunday church choir for many years. Her voice was felt and deeply touched so many.
For over 20 years Alana served as a Math teacher at multiple at-risk high schools. She strived to make an impact in a young teen’s life, often going beyond the typical responsibilities of a teacher. Most would consider their job done once the last class bell would ring, but Alana would often provide meals to those who could not afford or even advocate on their behalf in the justice system. She was invested in her students' future and helping them succeed.
Just before turning 50, Alana decided her life’s goal of helping others was not yet complete. Alana went back to school to receive a second Master’s degree in counseling to become a Licensed Professional Counselor that worked with hundreds of individuals, couples, and families.. To some of her clients, she is the reason they’re alive today.. Alana carried her client’s burdens for them, provided the tools to flourish, and equipped families with a sense of peace as they approached tough times. Alana remained ever-present and genuinely invested in the mental health of all whom she worked with.
To very few — she was their “Granny.” Alana leaves behind her five “greatest gifts” — her grandchildren. Kamya, Garrett, Geo, Andre and MaKena — all who were able to have their own special bond with her. To have a night with Granny often included dance parties, music, and a lot of laughter — Alana often said the only greater title than a parent was “grandparent.” If raising four children of her own was not enough, Alana took in her oldest grand-daughter and became her guardian at 12 years old. That same grand-daughter is now 15 and will deeply miss her grandmother.
No matter how you may have known her, or why your paths may have crossed, to have known Alana meant you had a true friend. You had someone to call, someone to listen, and someone to pick you up on your darkest days.
While Alana’s life was filled with so much love, it was also filled with debilitating physical pain. Between the fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and a myriad of other health issues, she had been in excruciating pain for almost all her life. On Nov. 4th, 2023 Alana was admitted to the ICU and rapidly declined day after day. Within 24 hours Alana suffered multiple strokes and slipped into a severe acidosis-state. She needed to be intubated and put on a ventilator. Doctors discovered that Alana had a vegetation growth on her heart that was breaking off to different parts of her body and organs, including her brain. The once vibrant and glowing woman was completely overcome by her chronic condition. Surrounded by her family and friends, Alana passed on the evening of Nov. 14th and is finally without pain and suffering for the first time in many years.
As her death came quickly and unexpectedly, we kindly and humbly ask in lieu of meals and flowers, that a donation be made to assist with settling Alana’s final affairs and funeral expenses. Should we reach our goal, any additional funds will be distributed to her children and grandchildren in her honor.
