Alan Purring's medical care

Hello,
I'm Cyn Cat, a devoted kitty parent asking for your help for my beloved kitty Alan Purring to help him weather his increasingly critical health problems and return to his sweet, loving, happy kitty self. Some of you know and care about him; some of you know and care about me; others of you simply care deeply about animals in need.

For those who don't know him, this is my darling kitty, Alan Purring. He is the world's most perfect snuggle kitty, who when he was well would curl up in the crook of my arm every night. In the morning he would paw at my face to let me know it was time for morning snuggles. He even loves tummy rubs (it's not a trap!). As a little glutton he wouldn't hesitate to pilfer food from the other household cats, and is particularly interested in pizza. He's been a tremendous comfort for my mental health since we've been together.

Alan Purring is a tough little bobtail cat who's been in his share of scrapes as a stray. As sweet and tough as he is, Alan has always been a bit sickly. He was so weak from multiple infections when I first got him that I wasn't sure he would make it, but I nursed him back to relative health. He still struggles with asthma, cardiac arrhythmia, intestinal inflammation, and rotting teeth, but he has remained an indomitable purring machine.

Recently Alan developed liver disease of unknown origin and severe anemia, also of unknown origin. He barely eats 2 bites per day & hardly moves now, hiding in the closet. He needs care urgently to get him back to his snuggly self.

The cost of his ongoing diagnostics and care is far beyond what I can manage. In addition to daily meds for his asthma & liver disease, an appetite stimulant, & regular visits for blood work, Alan needs an ultrasound of his liver and a radiologist, as well as full mouth dental extractions if/when he's healthy enough for surgery. Depending what the ultrasound finds, he may need a whole lot more. Here is a breakdown of what is currently needed:

- Lyft rides to and from the vet/animal hospital: $25 average each way
- Oral steroids: $25 per month
- Transdermal appetite stimulant: $39 per tube
- Liver supplements: $45 per month
- Veterinary exam with blood work: $300 average per visit, ongoing
- Ultrasound with radiologist to interpret: $400
- Full mouth dental extractions: $2200 estimated
- TBD pending ultrasound results: ?

I hate asking for help. More than being humiliating, it makes me feel ashamed & like a failure as a kitty parent. But I can't let those emotions stop me from doing whatever I can to help my fuzzy darling. That would be a greater failure. If you're an animal lover, you understand the need to do everything you can for your pet. So, if you're able, please help me take care of my sweet Alan Purring.
