I’ve known Alan Payne for over 23 years. He was a beloved member of GuideStone, where we both served in the same department for many years. My friend and co-worker, Alan, passed away November 3, 2020, leaving behind four children Savannah, Hudson, Katy and Clara. He was 57 years old.
The Backstory
Alan was a family man. He loved his family and Jesus more than anything. Anytime you would talk with him, he would share the latest about his kids. In 2007, Alan’s wife Sonya, lost her battle with cancer; she was 38 years old. Alan took on the role of single dad to his four young children. Though this was no easy job, Alan met every challenge head on with resilience and without complaint. He loved his children more than anything, and they spent so many wonderful times together. 17 months ago, he was diagnosed with cancer.
We take great comfort in knowing that Alan is now free of pain and experiencing the abundant life that is promised to all who have confessed Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
How You Can Help
We know there are going to be many challenges in the coming years without their beloved father as their provider. We would love to provide Alan’s children with a fund to help cover expenses that will come with college and life. This is a very special way we can honor Alan by providing for those he loved the most. All the funds donated to this memorial will go directly to Alan's children.
