Hi folks, Andy Law here.

I’m raising money to help my mum, Jennifer Law, after the sudden death of my dad, Alan Law.

My dad passed away without a will or any meaningful life insurance, which has left us in a genuinely difficult position. We’re currently facing the costs of cremation, funeral, and memorial arrangements. And beyond that, my mum is now having to shoulder all of the household bills alone on a very small pension.

If you know me from my RPG work, LAWhammer, the Rookery, or Lorebeards, you’ll know I usually spend my time talking about grimdark worlds, doomed heroes, and things going terribly wrong. Unfortunately, this one’s real.

What some of you might not know is that my mum has been part of the Warhammer world too — quietly, creatively, and without much fuss. Over the years, she’s painted award-winning banners that featured at Games Day, built scenery for GW stores, and even made Space Marine helmets that hung in GW's head office. She’s a long-time hobbyist, a lover of the setting, and has a particular soft spot for Dark Angels and Skaven.

More personally, without her enthusiastic support, encouragement, and belief in me, I would never have worked for Games Workshop, nor written for their games. A huge part of my career, and everything that followed from it, traces back to her and my dad.

My mum is kind, proud, and not someone who would ever ask for help herself. But the reality is that without support, the next few months are going to be incredibly hard for her as she grieves and adjusts to life on her own.

There’s no pressure, expectation, or obligation. But if you’ve ever enjoyed one of my maps or shows, perhaps learned some lore, had a laugh, or felt part of the little community we’ve built, then please know that any contribution — truly any amount — helps.
