Hello. My name is Kelsey. I am making this fund raiser for Alan, a 13-year-old boy who was very recently diagnosed with Lymphoma. He lives in Mexico with his single mother. She is a close family friend and this is her message:

"I hope this message finds you well. I am writing you to request financial support in the most honest way to cover the medical expenses of my youngest son. I am a single mother. We are currently going through a very difficult situation in relation to the health of my youngest son.

A few weeks ago, doctors detected a tumor in his little head. They diagnosed him with craniopharyngioma (a brain tumor), for which he needed emergency surgery to remove. We hospitalized him on July 29th of this year at the Angeles Hospital located in Antonio Aguilas in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Due to the complexity of the surgery, they kept him in intensive care for almost 2 weeks, and the hospital bill is astronomical, and this is not accounting for the additional fees and expenses of all the specialists who attended him (neurosurgeon, neurologist, endocrinologist, internist, infectious disease specialist, etc.). Thus far, I owe more than $100,000.00 in Mexican Pesos, which equates to over 5,000 U.S. dollars, and it is still climbing, and the news continues to worsen.

Recently, I have been given the news that the diagnosis is different than what was previously suspected. After a pathological study of the brain tumor, doctors diagnosed my son with T-cell Lymphoma.

My son will need more procedures, studies, and medical care.

This was his mother's message to anyone who has anything they can spare. She is selling off most of what she has in order to pay for her son's care, and she needs help. Alan needs help. Something to note is that in Mexico, money has to be given upfront prior to treatment and Alan needs to start his chemotherapy right away. Anything helps.
