Alan Bernard Cann, A Farewell in His Favorite Key

My name is Alan, or as many loved ones refer to me as AJ. I recently lost my dad — a man whose life was filled with music, passion, and kindness. He wasn’t just my father, he was a sound technician for bands all around the world which touched souls with every clear note and every performance. From small local gigs to massive international stages, music was his gift to the world, but his love was his gift to me. He's the person who taught me what it means to work hard and care deeply.

I grew up watching him work behind the scenes, adjusting cables and soundboards with the same care he used to guide me through life. He taught me that every great performance depends on the people you don’t see — and that kindness is the best legacy you can leave behind.

Losing him has been devastating. Not only is there an empty space in my heart, but there are so many expenses ahead — from memorial arrangements to other unexpected costs — and right now, I don’t even know the total. I just know I can’t do it alone.

I’m starting this GoFundMe to help cover these costs as they come in, and to give my dad the send-off he deserves — one filled with the music he loved so much.
