Life After Injury In Gaza: Alaa’s Fight to Survive

Alaa was injured by bomb fragments in his legs, stomach, and arms. Doctors removed some fragments, but others in his legs remained — more than three weeks later, they are still inside him.

He spent this time bedridden, in pain, and unable to work to support his family. Surviving and keeping his family alive has been incredibly hard.

Alaa’s Story

*“My life was once beautiful. I had a home, friends, and dreams.

War took everything from me.

I have seen people die, including children. I lost many friends who remain buried under the rubble.

We were forced to flee, and now we live in a cold tent. Even here, we fear another attack. I just hope to find safety before it’s too late.”*

Alaa is 29 years old and currently displaced in Al-Mawasi, Khan Younis, Palestine. Like many families, he has been forced from his home and now lives without basic security or stability.

Who Is Alaa?

Alaa has been a YouTuber and TikToker since 2020, sharing everyday life, culture, and moments from Palestine. He loves football, supports the Palestinian national team, and plays soccer himself.

The contrast between his life before and after displacement is heartbreaking — and it’s why we are doing everything we can to help him survive and stay safe.

Why I’m Fundraising

My name is Omar V, a photographer and DJ based in Sacramento, California. I’m organizing this Chuffed campaign to support my friend Alaa during this humanitarian crisis.

This fundraiser exists to help cover basic daily needs while Alaa remains displaced.
