Hi, I’m Emily!
Based in so called Australia and I’m fundraising for my friend in Gaza who recently lost contact with someone who was raising funds on their behalf.
Please read Alaa & his families’ story below and donate anything you can thank you
I am Alaa, I am 29 years old. I worked in a supermarket owned by my father. My family and I are from the Gaza Strip. I used to live in my own home above my family house on Al Rasheed Street. Our family consisting of my father who is 67 years old, my mother who is 59 years old, my brother who is 19 years old, and my sister who was married. She has two girls the eldest is named Alma she is two years old and the youngest is named Shahd she is 7 months old.
We had a family supermarket to live from before the war came. This was in the neighbourhood in which we use to live in by the sea, we was threatened and bombed on the fourth day of the war! So we had to move to my grandfather's house, we did not expect this to happen to us. The house adjacent to my grandfather's house was bombed this also affected my grandfather's house! Due to this bombing we suffered minor wounds as a result of the glass breaking, even after this unfortunately my family and I had to stay at my grandfather's house because another area that was supposed to be safe called Al-Nusirat, we stayed with them for more than 40 days in a room with a friend of ours. Again we was bombed and there we lost our relatives, my friend and his family. It really is unfortunate to see a whole family about 17 people under the rubble and collect only a few of their remains.
We have now moved to Rafah and live in a tent next to the Egyptian border, because everyone in the Gaza Strip was threatened to get out and move to the area south of the Gaza Valley. Frankly we did not expect to be exposed to these terrible conditions, from the winter, from the fear and the psychological trauma we are experiencing.
We are forced to raise the blankets so they are not exposed to the water on the ground and the mattress remains standing until the bad weather is over. Then we return to dry the floor of the tent by changing the sand and putting the mattresses back down. The mattresses we have are not enough for all the family members, and we
So until we become more ambitious to start all over again or even begin to be able to do so, I can only hope that my family and I can secure drinking water, provide food and artificial milk for Shahd. With all the fear and lack of food, my sister is suffering and this is causing her to stop producing milk to breastfeed Shahd. They also need more blankets to keep her 2 daughters our mother and herself warm from the cold.
Since the beginning of the war we have not had any work, the tower in which our supermarket was located has also been bombed. I don't know when this war or this suffering will end, but I hope that this doesn't really last. We are here in the disaster with little money left. We bought wood and created a tent that does not protect against option so on, until I ask you to support us through prayer, money, protest or educating people about the atrocities committed to my family and my people in Palestine.
