Ala Abu Alkheir's Campaign: Kanata Masjid & Centre

This is my personal effort to help establish the first and much-needed Masjid & Centre in our community. Please help Spread the Light in Kanata by giving now!
Assalamu 'Alaikum Dear Friends,
Last year, I told you about how I have been living since 2017 in Kanata, a thriving, diverse suburb of Ottawa surrounded by most of the important services in very close proximity. But unfortunately, we are still lacking something very critical in the life of a Muslim - our own masjid.
I am pleased to inform you that, alhamdulillah, we have now finally purchased and paid off 2 properties featuring:
- a total of 4 beautiful acres
- ideally located, surrounded by hundreds of Muslim families and employees
- a leased daycare in one of the buildings that is generating revenue
- enough space to host a temporary Mossalla for daily salah and limited activities.
Alhamdulillah, we have moved our Mossalla into the new property and have seen an immediate increase in attendance and engagement.
Now, we are trying to move forward in building a well-designed masjid and centre to continue our community's focus on Spirituality, Wellness and Outreach (watch above video to see what we do). This facility will give us space for salah, Quran/Islamic teaching and learning, da'wah, feeding and helping those in need, counselling, caring for seniors, children and youth education and much more. For the past 15 years, our community has been offering Jumu'ah Salah in rented spaces like halls, community centres and even churches. These days, hundreds of our fellow brothers and sisters offer Jumu'ah and Taraweeh salah at a city-run recreation complex.
This is the 7th Jumu'ah location after the community outgrew 6 others. Other activities such as Qur'an, Islamic studies and Arabic language classes, daily salah with jama'ah, halaqahs and community iftars are currently happening at 4 different rental locations.
We are getting closer alhamdulillah, but still need support. I'm trying to raise at least $3000 this Ramadan for this important cause. Can you please help by contributing to my campaign? Every amount counts.
Uthman ibn Affan (RA) reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ
“Whoever builds a masjid for Allah, then Allah will build for them (a house) like it in Paradise.” (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim)
He ﷺ also said:
مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ
"Charity does not decrease wealth." (Reported by Muslim)
Your contribution will go towards building our much-needed Masjid, which will benefit our family, our community and the entire ummah for generations to come, Insha Allah.
