Al Quinn Sympathy Gift ~ Abuloy

Donation protected
***Update Nov. 1, 2020 by Janet Nicholas, Marijo Oreta-Rolle, Josephine Rolle and the Pastrano Family***

We wish to clarify that this is in no way a fundraising effort. The final arrangements for Al have already been completed by Beth and the children.

The purpose of this GoFundMe is to serve as an option for people to send a sympathy gift if they choose to, as part of our Filipino custom. Because of the current pandemic, it is impossible to hold a large scale viewing and burial which mourners could attend. GoFundMe is a legitimate site for receiving monetary gifts, which is why we found it best to use it, but please know it is not expected nor is it mandatory. It is simply an avenue for people to send their gifts of sympathy to the bereaved. Beth and the children have been asked by several people where they can send their gifts, which are known in Tagalog as “abuloy,” and we feel this is the most convenient place to collect them. Thank you for your good wishes during this time of sorrow.

Birthname Alcuin Pastrano, Direk Al Quinn in movie/television world, but better known as Tito Al to most, left this world peacefully in his sleep on Oct 23, 2020, at his home in Beaumont California, with his wife Betchay at his side.

His loss sent shockwaves and immeasurable grief to his family, friends and colleagues, after just losing one of his daughters four months ago.

Tito Al is survived by his beautiful, loving wife, Beth (Betchay to most), his amazing children, Dino, Noelle, Allan, Elaine, Elise, Erica, and Aldin.

Our dear Al Quinn/Tito Al is a certified giant, an icon,  in Philippine show business. And it’s not only because of the superior level of his art but also because of the humanity in his heart. He truly loved people and they love him back. Everyone who had known him remembers him with deep admiration and respect. He was a giving soul that nurtured, guided and inspired every crew and talent blessed to have a chance to work with him. He is a great loss and totally irreplaceable.

The outpouring of news and media coverage after his passing is a testimony of his life. A loving husband, adoring father and just a beautiful, beautiful human being. One cannot help but admire this man, an accomplished and a well-respected director, dancer, choreographer and painter. He was LOVED by all. His appreciation for life is contagious, very appreciative of even small things, and always had something good to say about others. Not one to criticize but uplift and encourage others. Always there to help, willing to give everyone a chance to succeed. He never lost his sense of humor, and boy, he could be very funny with every chance he could. A life well-lived. So long Tito Al, until we meet again.

To those who have sent their thoughts and condolences, the family is forever grateful.

We invite everyone to visit the site and see how they can participate in this effort. Please share the link to as many as you can. Thank you.
