Alan Cummings & Dave Haselden Take on 100 Holes in One Day for MND South Lancashire

On Tuesday 9th June, Alan Cummings and Dave Haselden will be taking on an extraordinary challenge @ Haydock Park Golf Club — 100 holes of golf in just one day — all to raise funds for the MND South Lancashire Branch.

That’s over five full rounds of golf, walking mile after mile, swing after swing, from sunrise to sunset. It will be physically demanding, mentally tough, and a true test of endurance — but it’s nothing compared to the daily challenges faced by people living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Why We’re Doing This

Motor Neurone Disease is a devastating condition that progressively affects the brain and nerves, leading to muscle weakness and loss of mobility. It impacts not only those diagnosed but also their families, carers, and loved ones.

The MND South Lancashire Branch is run entirely by dedicated volunteers. Every penny raised goes directly towards supporting local people affected by MND. They provide:

  • Practical support and advice
  • Financial assistance for essential equipment
  • Emotional support for families and carers
  • A local network of understanding and compassion

Their coverage stretches across St. Helens, Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Leigh, Wigan, Standish, Burscough, and Skelmersdale, ensuring no family in our area faces MND alone.

Why Your Support Matters

As a volunteer-led branch, they rely heavily on fundraising and community generosity to continue their vital work. The funds raised from this challenge will stay local, directly helping families in South Lancashire who urgently need support.

Alan and Dave are putting their bodies on the line for this cause — walking approximately 25–30 miles in a single day and playing 100 holes of golf to make a difference.

Now we’re asking you to help us make every step, every swing, and every blister worthwhile.

How You Can Help

  • Donate whatever you can — every contribution makes a difference
  • Share this page with friends, family, and colleagues
  • Come along and show your support on the day if you can

Together, we can help the MND South Lancashire Branch continue their incredible work and ensure local families receive the care, dignity, and support they deserve.

Thank you for your generosity, encouragement, and support.

Let’s help Alan and Dave turn 100 holes into real hope for families affected by MND.
