Hello there!!
My name is Kimberly Metcalf and I am asking for a little help with my medical bills. After much prayer and humility, I have decided to post a myfundme account.
As most of you know I have suffered from an eating disorder for 13 years. Because of this, I have suffered many health issues and have had the misfortune of seeing other beautiful souls fall, leaving loved ones behind. This is a serious disease. Had I known where this disease would lead me, I would have never made the superficial choice to start. Yes, it was a choice, but it is more than that; it's a mental disease. My hope is to continue to speak out about this disease to bring awareness to men and women suffering and their families. For it is much harder on the families than the patient. I pray that this disease decreases in numbers as we begin to speak out against this disorder.
Ack! I apologize for the "rant", I am just passionate and determined to get something done to help others in need. :) Why am I asking for financial help? I spent the last 8 months in my third treatment center. For the first two, my short term disability deemed appropriate to be there, and continued to pay me my disability while in treatment. However, though my treatment team felt necessary for my 8 month stay, my short term disability stopped paying as of June 3. For the past 5 months I have been living on savings, and now that I have been released from treatment, I am left with no income, no savings and a negative amount in my bank account. I have never asked for money, but I am sitting on medical bills from Montecatini Treatment Center in Carlsbad, CA, just under $5000.
I am incredibly humbled and would be so grateful for any help you could provide. I am in a healthy place and this would mean I would not owe any medical bills and can start my life over from scratch without owing anyone.
