Summer Tuition Assistance

Hello everyone! My name is Brittney Zapata and I am a GRADUATING senior Public Relations major , Sports Administration minor from Harlem , New York and I attend the prestigious Howard University. Along with being a first-generation student I am also the President of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., Alpha Phi Chapter as well as an incoming graduate student at the Valenti School of Communications at the University of Houston. 

As a once prospective graduate for May 2021 , Howard University had notified me last minute that I will not be able to graduate due to missing a credit. I am currently registered for summer school but unfortunately Howard U has made it cIear that you MUST PAY summer tuition by May 17th 2021 or I will be disenrolled from the class. Unfortunately since I need the one class ( 3 credits ) to obtain my degree, I am NOT eligible for financial aid for the summer and MUST need at least 6 credits . Due to the limited time I have, this is the only opportunity that I can take these classes otherwise I will have to stay an extra semester at Howard.

Before the pandemic, Howard would give out the STAGE grant  which allowed students to take 6 credits of classes for free.In my case , I will need to pay for the one class and I do not have enough money to pay off the $4000 balance. I currently work as a concierge for an apartment building in Downtown D.C as well as a server for Chipotle Mexican Grill. Due to COVID-19 , the amount of hours I receive is not enough to fully pay the balance and has affected me personally and I am now working day & night.
 
If anyone can help me pay down the balance preferably by May 17th 2021, it would be greatly appreciated! If not by then , I may not be able to obtain my bachelors degree .
