Help With Rent - Eviction Notice

I have found out that my family and I are being evicted from our home in which we have lived in for 13 years now. Due to the constant rent hikes, and the recent struggles we have dealt with this year, we have been falling behind on rent.

I am currently a freshman at Howard University, but my home is in Wilmington, NC with my mom and three younger siblings.  This year has not been great for us with losing my great-grandfather, then my aunt being killed a few months before I left for school, and then my dad was shot and in critical condition a week after I began school. My mom has not been able to breath and catch a break since these events, especially with Hurricane Florence occurring right after. Due to Hurricane Florence we were unable to live in our home for 10 days. 

Now, our rent bill has accumulated to $2,252.97 in which we need to have payed to our landlord within 10 days (December 20th) or we will be forced to move out of our home. With Christmas right around the corner and other bills to pay, we do not have enough funds to pay this full cost alone. I hate having to ask for handouts when everyone else is struggling also, but we would really appreciate any help we can get. Thank you!
