Hi, my name is Elida. Christinia (Tini) and her family are close family friends of ours. With the families permission we have decided to start a fundraiser to help out with Emilio’s medical needs/bills as well as his families financial burden due to not being able to work during this time to stay with Emilio while he stays at Childrens Hospital in Omaha.

Emilio is 14 years old and was born with a heart disease call bicuspid valve with aortic stenosis. Tuesday Emilio went in for what would be his forth open heart surgery. This surgery was to replace his aortic valve with his pulmonary valve and place an artificial valve where the pulmonary valve was. The valve replacement went well but when they tried to take him off the bypass machine his heart couldn’t take it. Since his heart has to work harder then anyone else’s to work, it has become very stiff and thick. This is causing his heart to not pump blood through his body as it should! They placed him on echmo which is the highest form of life support. The echmo machine acts as his own heart would. They are leaving him on echmo until Monday in hopes that his heart will have rested enough and gotten strong enough to pump on its own. If it doesn’t then we will have to start talking about heart transplant. They have a very long hard road ahead of them! Emilio is very sick, but he is so brave and so strong!

Christinia (Tini) and Jose (JJ) Emilio’s parents have three other children, Andrew, Jose, and Celayna. The actual amount of financial costs of open heart surgery and their stay is unknown and your support will help to relieve the worry and strain on this amazing family so they can focus on Emilios surgery and recovery.
