The Akkar Trail Association launches the annual fundraising campaign for the Akkar Trail Wildfires and mountain rescue team amid global and local harsh conditions. Hoping to receive a sufficient support to continue extinguishing forest fires in Akkar as needed.

The third fire season for our team starts with an increased preparedness especially with the development of a plan in which all community members are involved, in addition to a training manual that will be used in the training of volunteers in the various villages of Akkar where forests cover almost 21,000 hectares of which 3000 hectares have been lost during the 2020 and 2021 catastrophic fire seasons.

The Akkar Trail wildfires team currently includes 10 volunteers operating with two rapid intervention vehicles that were equipped locally by donations from Akkar Trail international and local friends.

With the few resources available, the team fought tens of wildfires all over Akkar, and is aiming in the next few years to make this team, a typical firefighting team in Lebanon.

Your contribution to support the team constitutes a strong motivation for us and gives us the opportunity to continue and progress, to stop the bleeding happening in our forests and their ecosystems.
