Help dad get life-changing spinal surgery after car accident

Our dad, the most hardworking, loving person we know, has spent the last 25 years driving to the fruit market every Saturday morning, a routine he’s carried out with dedication and pride.

This past Saturday 7th December, at 2.30am, our world was turned upside down when his normal drive to work was impacted by a reckless, speeding driver who completely disregarded the safety of others on the road and crashed directly into dad’s truck. The impact was so forceful that it spun his 7.5T truck 90 degrees, leaving him unconscious before slamming into a wall. The accident resulted in a traumatic head injury that required 18 stitches and, most concerning, a severe spinal condition which has lead to part paralysis in his arms.

Our biggest concern now is his spinal injury. He’s facing complex critical spinal surgery to reverse the paralysis and further prevent permanent damage or even worse, permanent paralysis. Acting quickly is critical , and ensuring he gets the immediate care he needs is our top priority.

This surgery is not just essential; it’s life-changing, but the costs are overwhelming, from the procedure itself, to post-surgery care and the long road of recovery therapy ahead. Without the surgery, dad will be bed bound with the risk of permanent fracture to the spine, resulting to permanent paralysis, meaning he will never walk again.

Our dad has always been the rock of our family, the one we’ve leaned on through thick and thin. Now, he’s the one who needs us.
