On the evening of July 31, 2025, Akintunde “Tunde” Campbell was fatally shot by police officers during a non-violent encounter in which he was experiencing a mental health crisis. This sudden loss has left his family heartbroken and struggling to cope. His mother is currently hospitalized due to the immense emotional and physical toll this tragedy has taken on her.

Tunde’s mother is now facing the unimaginable pain of burying her fourth child, having lost another son, her third child lost, just a few years ago. His mother was hospitalized after experiencing symptoms of a heart attack due to the overwhelming emotional and physical toll of this tragedy. Tunde’s older sister is grieving deeply over the loss of all her siblings, struggling to understand and cope with this unimaginable pain. Given their health and grief, the family is in need of assistance to plan and fund the funeral.

We have taken on the responsibility to manage communications and coordinate support for the family during this difficult time. We are reaching out to our community, friends, and compassionate individuals to help cover funeral costs and related expenses so that Tunde can be laid to rest with dignity.
