Our names are Jordeen, Katherine, Jason, Maryanne, Elizabeth, and Jason, and we have created this fund in support of our good friend, Lisa Inoue, and her mom, Akiko. Akiko was recently diagnosed with central nervous system (CNS) lymphoma after an emergency procedure revealed the presence of a malignant tumor in her brain. Akiko is currently undergoing chemotherapy and will continue to receive treatment for at least 6 months.

As Lisa's friends, we have each had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Lisa's mom, Akiko. Upon meeting Akiko, it is evident that she and Lisa are mother and daughter. They share the same kind smile, the same generous spirit, and the same cheerful readiness to be there for the people they love. During their time in need, we hope - with your help - to share with them even half the support and love they've so freely given to others.

As many of us know, the fight against cancer is not an easy one. It is an emotional, physical, and financial challenge, and a heavy burden for one family to carry alone. The average cost of an initial chemotherapy treatment is approximately $7,000 and does not include costs incurred from hospital stays, home care, lab tests, clinic visits, and more.

As people who love and care for Lisa and her family, we hope to alleviate some of the financial burden they are facing as a result of Akiko's diagnosis. Anything you can donate is much appreciated, and 100% of the money raised will go directly to Akiko and her family.
