Consider saving my life.....many of you are not aware of the fact that I suffer from a kidney disorder called Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). PKD is one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases, affecting more people than Down syndrome, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, hemophilia, and sickle cell anemia – combined. There is no treatment for PKD. And no cure. Until one is found, PKD will threaten the lives of every generation of every family living with the disease.
Well at 35 years old and with a six year old son to look afte, I find myself in need of a kidney transplant. Words cannot express my gratitude for those who attempt to donate, for those who say prayers, for those who donate and for those who keep me in their thoughts and prayers.
The blood type needed for my kidney donation is O (+ or -). My cases is very sever, at this point only 1% of the population even qualify to be a match for me...so even though I am on the UNOS transplant list my wait for a transplant may be extensive.
