Help Ruby get better ❤️‍

Hi my name is Elle I’m asking for help for my beautiful cat Ruby. On October 1st 2023 I had a message from a friend saying they had found a kitten out on the street. Having rescued cats myself they asked me to help. I went and picked her up and that’s where our journey began, she was a tiny 8 week old kitten who was covered in fleas, malnourished and a belly of worms. I gave her a bath and took her to the vets. I called every vet in a 30m radius to see if anyone was missing her and after a week no one did. She spent her first night sleeping on my chest and that was the moment I feel I love. I wasn’t looking for another cat as I already had 3 and didn’t know how the others were going to react but from the moment I bought her home she made it hers. She just slid into the family like she had always been there she didn’t let her past affect her. She even get my old grumpy cat to love her so how could I not keep her?? Her personality is beautiful and calming. I work in a nursing home and Ruby will come spend time with the residents and they love her ❤️

On Friday the 31st Ruby fell off the cat tree and landed funny. She became hunched over struggling to climb and in a little bit of pain. I booked a vet appointment for Tuesday and kept an eye on her but nothing worsened. On the 4th Ruby saw the vet who said it was a sprained hip and sent us home with painkillers. Ruby improved ever so slightly. On Sunday the 9th Millie (my older grumpy cat) tried to play with Ruby when all of a sudden Ruby turned around and hissed and then was unable to walk ov her left hind leg. I rushed her into the emergency vets who said she was in agonising pain and had to sedate her to see what was going on. They could feel anything and had to give her X-rays which also showed nothing. They didn’t know what was happened and sent her home with some stronger painkillers and suggested bed rest and if it got worse to bring her back in. Once she was home she began struggling to use both of her back legs without being in pain. We put it down to the fact she had been pocked and prodded at the vets and we would see how she was in the morning. When morning came i noticed Ruby hadn’t used the toilet and her pain had only gotten worse. We rushed her back into the vets where they admitted her. The vets weren’t sure what was going on and thought it could be a partial thrombosis blood clot and wanted to keep her in on medication to try and brake down the clot if there is one and she’d got for a ct the next day. Over night Rubys temperature began to rise and they had to put her on fluids. By the morning she was a bit better. Her temp was down and she was using her legs a bit more but she’s still not better and the vets don’t know what’s going on with her and called her an anomaly. They have referred her to a neurologist in Bristol as there is nothing else that can do for her as they don’t know what’s wrong.

so I’m asking for help to help pay for her vet bills. She’s so full of life and so beautiful she doesn’t deserve this but I’m struggling. I’m a full time carer for my nan and I work full time as a carer in a nursing home and I’m having to take time off to take Ruby up to Bristol. Any help anyone can offer is appreciated massively ❤️
