S.O.S. – Save Our Strays!

Little known fact: In Australia, tens of thousands of healthy cats (including kittens) are killed each year after ending up in shelters and pounds.

One of the main contributing factors is the number of strays – cats born (or dumped) in the wild, not desexed, and left to breed again and again while fighting for their lives on the streets.

In response to this, our small (but passionate) team of cat lovers – in connection with Sugar & Spice Cat Rescue – is on a mission to rescue and rehome a colony of kitties in our local area, who are currently living in a supermarket car park. We’ve successfully saved ten little lives so far – 3 adults and 7 babies – and are in the process of getting them desexed, vaccinated, wormed and safely rehomed.

There are at least another seven to catch, as far as we’ve been able to count. We’ve been visiting daily, attempting to trap as many as possible, and ensuring those not yet caught have access to fresh food and water.

But the process of trapping, rehabilitating and rehoming these cats doesn’t come cheap. We’re seeking donations from fellow cat people who want to make a real difference in reducing the number of sweet babies that don’t ever get to experience a warm, safe, loving home. These donations will be instrumental in covering the costs associated with veterinary care.
