Hello my name is Lisa Preble and I’m a surviving spouse trying to keep my home that I lived in for the past 29 years. My husband was a marine for 30 years in a St. John’s County deputy Sheriff for 19 years. I lost him in August 2023. I was able to pay my mortgage payment until now. There is a VA program called VASP through the VA that purchases mortgages from lenders and will refinance at 2.5% interest for 40 years to help bring down mortgage payments to a reasonable price. I lost my husband in August 2023 and lost his income in order for me to be able to apply to this VASP Program I need two months of my mortgage payments. Please help me keep my home.
