Happy 24th Birthday in Heaven to our Son Nicholas!  This is our 14th year celebrating Nicholas by asking our friends to purchase gift cards for kids fighting cancer at the same hospital where he received treatment. I hear his voice in my head so often encouraging me to continue to support kiddos with cancer.  Each year we send gift cards to the hospital for the oncology nurses to give to children having a rough day, maybe they have to have a procedure or a needle poke or they're just sad.  When we were there Nicholas noticed that sometimes they were out of gift cards, so we are trying to make sure there is always a supply.  The hospital has told us they rely on our gift each year so please help us celebrate our Son Nicholas' 24th Birthday with a donation that will be used to purchase gift cards for the Children's Hospital Oncology Unit.  Thank you so much for celebrating his beautiful courageous and mischievous spirit!
You will notice our photos have a brotherly theme this year.  That is because Lucas was an integral part of Nicholas' fight.  He spent countless hours in hospital rooms just hanging out with Nicholas, watching movies, playing video games and just being brothers.  The current policy with Covid is no siblings are allowed at the hospital.  Only up to two adults per day.  I don't know what we would have done if Nicholas couldn't have had his Brother with him in the hospital.  It was HUGE to have him there.   I would have been heartbroken to have them separated.  In our case they would have lost almost 2 years together and never gotten that time back.  It made it bearable for both of them.   Let's try and bring smiles to children fighting cancer with a gift card during this exceptionally difficult time.  I know it always made Nicholas smile  to experience the generosity of a stranger!
