Eu tenho 35 anos e estou a correr contra o tempo para tentar não perder a minha visão.

Olá, o meu nome é Gabriella. Sou brasileira, vivo em Portugal há 7 anos e, há quase quatro anos, a minha vida mudou quando fui diagnosticada com um tumor cerebral.

O cenário atual é que, recentemente, o tumor cresceu de forma significativa e está a comprometer estruturas importantes do meu cérebro, incluindo o quiasma óptico, uma estrutura diretamente relacionada com a visão.

A minha perda visual tem evoluído rapidamente e, neste momento, já compromete mais de 60% da minha visão do olho direito, com forte possibilidade de afetar também o esquerdo.

A cirurgia é algo urgente e eu preciso da ajuda de vocês para conseguir realizá-la.

A minha história explicada em detalhes:

Há quase quatro anos, comecei a sentir dores de cabeça muito fortes e frequentes.

Procurei ajuda médica em Lisboa e, inicialmente, acreditava-se que fossem enxaquecas relacionadas com as sequelas da Covid. Naquele momento, não foram realizados exames de imagem nem investigações mais aprofundadas.

Com o passar do tempo as dores continuaram e começaram a surgir outras alterações no meu organismo, incluindo mudanças no meu ciclo menstrual, na minha energia e até no meu humor.

Decidi então investigar mais de forma mais profunda no Brasil.

Depois de alguns exames, descobri que, na verdade, havia um tumor cerebral. Passei inicialmente por algumas avaliações e tratamentos que não tiveram o resultado esperado. Foi depois de mudar de médico e realizar novos exames que recebi o diagnóstico definitivo: um meningioma.

O tumor está localizado numa região extremamente sensível e de difícil acesso. Parte dele, inclusive, não pode ser retirada com segurança.

Por esse motivo, naquele momento, a orientação médica foi não realizar uma cirurgia, mas manter um acompanhamento constante, com consultas, exames de imagem e avaliações para monitorizar a evolução do tumor e controlar os sintomas que ele estava a provocar.

Passei a ser acompanhada por uma equipe formada por endocrinologista, oftalmologista, nutricionista e neurocirurgião.

Durante este período, tratei das consequências que o tumor estava causando no meu organismo. Fiz a regulação hormonal, tratei a anemia, a deficiência de ferro e nutrientes e, com acompanhamento médico, consegui estabilizar essas questões.

Até que os meus exames mais recentes mudaram tudo. O tumor voltou a crescer.

Os últimos exames a que tive acesso, no final do mês de agosto (2026), mostraram uma evolução muito preocupante.

O tumor apresentou um crescimento extremamente significativo e passou a comprimir as duas carótidas e o quiasma óptico, estrutura relacionada com a visão.

Como consequência, comecei a apresentar uma perda visual que tem evoluído de forma muito rápida.

Hoje, já tenho uma perda de visão de mais de 60% no olho direito.

A cirurgia, então, passou a ser urgente, principalmente para tentar impedir que a perda visual continue a avançar e que o tumor comprometa outras estruturas importantes.

A cirurgia:

Por se tratar de uma região extremamente sensível, a cirurgia exige uma abordagem muito técnica e cuidadosa.

Por isso, decidi realizar o procedimento no Brasil, com um neurocirurgião que me acompanha há cerca de um ano e em cujo trabalho confio plenamente.

O problema é que se trata de um médico particular e os custos são muito elevados.

Tenho plano de saúde e, felizmente, o meu plano irá cobrir a parte hospitalar e os materiais necessários para a cirurgia.

Porém, os honorários da equipa médica não estão cobertos por este plano de saúde. E o orçamento que eu recebi atualmente é de R$ 112.000,00.

Ainda estou tentando negociar este valor, e conseguir algum tipo de desconto.

A minha meta é arrecadar R$ 100.000.

Este valor ajudará a cobrir parte dos custos da cirurgia e despesas que terei durante o período de recuperação e continuidade do tratamento no Brasil, incluindo hospedagem, medicamentos, acompanhamento médico, deslocações e outros custos relacionados ao meu tratamento.

Eu nunca imaginei que precisaria de pedir ajuda desta maneira.

Sempre consegui encontrar uma forma de seguir em frente e lidar com as dificuldades que apareceram no meu caminho.

Mas, neste momento, preciso reconhecer que não consigo fazer isso sozinha.

Estou escolhendo lutar pela minha saúde, pela minha visão e pela possibilidade de continuar a viver a minha vida com qualidade.

I am 35 years old and I am racing against time to try not to lose my vision.

Hello, my name is Gabriella. I am Brazilian, I have been living in Portugal for 7 years, and almost four years ago, my life changed when I was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

The current situation is that, recently, the tumor has grown significantly and is compromising important structures in my brain, including the optic chiasm, a structure directly related to vision.

My vision loss has progressed rapidly and, at this moment, has already compromised more than 60% of the vision in my right eye, with a strong possibility of also affecting the left eye.

The surgery is urgent, and I need your help to be able to undergo it.

My story explained in detail:

Almost four years ago, I started experiencing very severe and frequent headaches.

I sought medical help in Lisbon and, initially, it was believed that they were migraines related to the effects of Covid. At that time, no imaging tests or further investigations were carried out.

As time went by, the headaches continued and other changes began to appear in my body, including changes in my menstrual cycle, my energy levels, and even my mood.

I then decided to investigate further in Brazil.

After some tests, I discovered that, in fact, there was a brain tumor. I initially went through some evaluations and treatments that did not have the expected results. It was after changing doctors and undergoing new tests that I received the definitive diagnosis: a meningioma.

The tumor is located in an extremely sensitive and difficult-to-access area. Part of it, in fact, cannot be safely removed.

For this reason, at that time, the medical recommendation was not to undergo surgery, but to maintain constant monitoring, with appointments, imaging tests, and evaluations to monitor the tumor's progression and control the symptoms it was causing.

I began being followed by a team consisting of an endocrinologist, ophthalmologist, nutritionist, and neurosurgeon.

During this period, I treated the consequences that the tumor was causing in my body. I underwent hormonal regulation, treated anemia, iron deficiency, and nutrient deficiencies, and, with medical follow-up, I was able to stabilize these issues.

Until my most recent tests changed everything. The tumor started growing again.

The latest tests I had access to, at the end of August (2026), showed a very concerning progression.

The tumor showed extremely significant growth and began compressing both carotid arteries and the optic chiasm, a structure related to vision.

As a consequence, I began experiencing vision loss that has progressed very rapidly.

Today, I already have more than 60% vision loss in my right eye.

The surgery has therefore become urgent, mainly to try to prevent the vision loss from continuing to progress and the tumor from compromising other important structures.

The surgery:

Because this involves an extremely sensitive area, the surgery requires a highly technical and careful approach.

For this reason, I decided to undergo the procedure in Brazil, with a neurosurgeon who has been following my case for about a year and whose work I fully trust.

The problem is that he is a private doctor and the costs are very high.

I have health insurance and, fortunately, my insurance will cover the hospital costs and the materials required for the surgery.

However, the medical team's fees are not covered by this health insurance plan. And the quote I have currently received is R$112,000.00.

I am still trying to negotiate this amount and obtain some kind of discount.

My goal is to raise R$100,000.

This amount will help cover part of the cost of the surgery, as well as expenses I will have during my recovery and continued treatment in Brazil, including accommodation, medication, medical follow-up, transportation, and other costs related to my treatment.

All funds will be used for expenses related to my treatment and, whenever possible, I will share updates.

I never imagined that I would need to ask for help in this way.

I have always managed to find a way to move forward and deal with the difficulties that have appeared along my path.

But at this moment, I need to recognize that I cannot do this alone.

I am choosing to fight for my health, my vision, and the possibility of continuing to live my life with quality.
